Dr. Kim Allshouse is originally from Dagus Mines, Pennsylvania. She grew up riding and competing locally before deciding to move to Rhode Island to attend Johnson and Wales University. She then built a career caring for and training horses in barns in the United States and Germany. She decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine after several years of working professionally in the equine industry.
Dr. Allshouse graduated from veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin in 2018, she then pursued an internship at Texas A&M. While at A&M, she had the opportunity to see a large and varied dentistry caseload and gain invaluable experience working with a board certified equine dental specialist. After completing her internship, Dr. Allshouse then decided to return to New England where she practiced general equine medicine in the greater Boston area for several years before deciding to focus exclusively on dentistry. In her free time, she and her partner, Matt, enjoy hiking, scuba diving, traveling, and generally exploring New England.
Dr. Allshouse is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), and American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). She is looking forward to pursuing the residency program to attain board certification (equine veterinary dentist) in the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) in the coming years.
